Shri. Chow Amat Namchoom - A young achiever Agri-preneur from Namsai District.


Youth are the future of the State and Nation and rural youth are the future of food security. Yet around the State, few young people see a future for themselves in agriculture or rural areas. Rural youth face many hurdles in trying to earn a livelihood. Pressure on arable land is high as most parts of the State are mountainous, making it difficult to start a farm. Youth often also lack access to credit, and many other productive resources necessary for agriculture. But with encouragement towards farming through mechanization and subsidies by the Government, many youth are into Agriculture, one such young Agri-preneur is Shri. Chow Amat Namchoom from Namsai district of Arunachal Pradesh,  Age: 38 years, Phone: 9436049995.


Shri. Chow Amat Namchoom- a young graduate entrepreneur from Namsai from Eastern part of the State has been one of the examples of youth of the State as a progressive farmer. He has been cultivating King Chilly, Banana, Tumeric, Paddy, Lemongrass and Water Melon besides many other crops of high market demand   in his 74 acres of farm land.


Availing assistance under Chief Minister's Agriculture Farm Mechanization programme, he has a power tiller, a dryer, slicer and grinder for turmeric processing. He has also set up King Chilli processing unit at Namsai and sells his processed products in the domestic as well as overseas market through tie up with exporters. Instead of looking for jobs, today he employs around fifty farmhands.


Shri Namchoom earns about Rs. 10.00 lakhs annually.
